We are proud to be at the heart of our community

We provide a caring and inspiring place for children aged 2 to 4 years to learn, play, and grow. For many years, our preschool has offered families a warm and supportive environment where children can explore, make friends, and develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Meet Our Team

Our wonderful team at Winshill Preschool is made up of caring, experienced, and highly qualified early years professionals who are dedicated to giving every child the best possible start in life.

Each member of our team brings their own skills, creativity, and passion for early education. Together, we create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can thrive.

We follow the Key Person system, which means that every child is assigned a dedicated member of staff who takes special responsibility for their care, learning, and emotional well-being. Your child's Key Person will get to know them closely, helping them to settle in, build confidence, and feel secure. They will also be your main point of contact, sharing updates, progress, and special moments with you throughout your child's preschool journey.

We support our children using the Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a comprehensive framework which sets the standards for learning, development and care of children from birth to 5.

All registered early years providers and schools have been required to use the EYFS from September 2008 for children aged from 0-5.

There are Four main principles of the EYFS, within each principle there are 4 commitments.

The Three Prime Learning Areas of our Pre-School Curriculum

Personal, Social and Emotional - Making relationships, Self-confidence and self-awareness.

Communication and Language- Listening and attention, Understanding and speaking

Physical development- Moving and handling, health and self-care.

The Four specific Learning areas of our Pre-School

Literacy- Reading and writing

Mathematics - Numbers and shape, space and measure.

Understanding the World - People and communities, the world and Technology.
